Type Crazy – Queen Andrea / Events
Queen Andrea’s solo exhibition Type Crazy will feature new graffiti paintings, prints, and collage works inspired by her endless love for typography and graffiti letterforms.
Excerpt from Type Crazy press release:
“Andrea’s custom typography works express a full range of styles including signpainter, script and vintage advertising poster lettering. Andrea’s typography works are completely hand-drawn without the use of computer fonts. Her graffiti works are detailed and painstaking explorations of traditional graffiti letterforms, spelling out phrases and lyrics from popular rap songs by artists including Nas, A Tribe Called Quest and Jeru the Damaja.
Marked by a bold use of color, Andrea’s new collage series works are an exciting culmination of her expanding collections of typography works – ripped, torn and pasted together into bright, energetic, beautiful compositions. Within these exciting works, the viewer will find typographic messages that strongly express the trials of urban life and personal empowerment.”
Type Crazy opens Tuesday August 13th at 7pm at bOb Bar on the Lower East Side at 235 Eldridge Street, New York NY (between Houston & Stanton, F train to 2nd Ave). This exhibition runs from August 13th – September 22nd, 2013, Tues -Sun 7pm – 4am.
